Why Montessori Concepts Can Be Beneficial In Any Home

Being a stay at home mom in Seattle has its ups and downs. There are days when I wonder if I made the right choice when I decided to stay at home with my children. When I have a bad day, I think about the reasons why I became a stay at home mom.

KB: I had to write a song about it. I will introduce myself and people will still hear me say [kee-nan]. They will swear that that’s what they heard me say! I don’t try to convince them otherwise, but I’m glad there’s a song that kind of speaks on that. Now I can move on from that. The reason it’s the first single is because it’s the song that I least like on the record. It’s a lug head song. The beat is very simple. It sounds like Beasties or Rick Rubin-esque. It will get your attention but it’s real simple. It’s not the deepest album track.

Observe the environment in general. Look for comfort, yet order. The environment should be child-centered. This means everything should be easily accessible to the children, without requiring constant adult intervention.

Absolutely. It often comes up in the context of having confidence in yourself. I tell of writers they’ve read who had the courage to go on even after receiving one rejection after another. Of course, that applies to musicians too.

This huge farmers market runs from April through October in Downtown Overland Park. Located at the Clock Tower Plaza, just 2 blocks West of Metcalf between 79th and 80th Streets–features fresh produce, herbs, arts and crafts from farmers and growers around the metro and surrounding areas. Saturday starting at 6:30 am and Wednesday starting at 7:30am.

There are general bits of advice that make sense. Call around uninvited to visit the creche. Get a real sense for how the place runs. Ask for confirmation that all the Daycare Near Me teachers are fully trained in the Montessori method of education. A Creche in Cork we spoke to all confirmed that they had had their staff fully Garda vetted, which was excellent to hear. Not all child care facilities can say this! Staff turnover in creches can be high. It’s always a good idea on your initial visit to ask one or two of the staff (ideally, not the one giving you the tour!) how long they have worked there. Anything more than 2 years could be an indication that it’s a nice place to work. Happy teachers and staff make for happy kids if you ask me!

You’ll also want to note the cost of tuition. You will want to research and discover the cost of each school, as they will differ from place to place. You also need to consider the staff as you look for the right place to send your child. Once you collect all of your research, you should be able to make an educated decision.
